3.Novastar Multi-Function Card MFN300 Outline
The management of the multi-function card includes: configuration of the multi-function card (such as: add, delete, rename), peripheral configuration, refresh multi-function card monitoring data, power management.
4.1 Hardware connection
4.1.1 Serial Communication:
Connect the multi-function card to the computer directly using the serial cable.
Network port communication:
Connected between the first receiving card and the sending card (orindependent master)
Connected between any two receiving cards
After the multi-function card is connected to the last receiving card
Open the LCT control software and click on “Multi-Function Card” to enter the “Multi-Function Card Management” interface;
4.2.1 Configuration of Multi-Functon Card
The configuration options for the multifunction card are shown in the main menu Including the addition, deletion, renaming, modification of serial ports and interchangeable serial ports of multi-function cards.
>Serial connection: Add a multi-function card connected to the serial port
>Network port connection: Add a multi-function card connected to the network port
Delete: Delete the selected node (including multi-function card node, network port node, sending card node, serial port node).
Click the icon to select "Modify Serial Port" and "Interchange Serial Port"
> Modify the serial port: Change the selected serial port to a serial port without a multifunction card
> Interchange serial port: Replace the selected serial port with the currently configured device, but the configured device type is different from the actual connected device type or the serial port of the device is not actually connected.
Note: This button is only available if the selected node is a serial port and the device type selected for the serial port is different from the actual connected device type or the serial port connected device is disconnected, otherwise the button is grayed out.
4.2.2 Power Management
Click the “Power Management” button on the Multi-Function Card page to open the power management page:
Power management board time:
> Read: Read the time of the selected multi-function card and display it on the interface.
> Settings: Set the current computer time to the selected multi-function card.
Setting Note: Set the comment for each power supply of the multi-function card.
Start delay: Set the delay time of the multi-function card power-on. After the setup is successful, the start-up of each power supply will be delayed for a certain period of time. For example, if the set delay time is 2 seconds, each power supply will be delayed by 2 seconds.
Note: The delay is not supported set to 0 seconds. If the delay is set to 0 seconds, the software defaults to 255 seconds.
Refresh: Refresh the power control mode, power status, time on the multi-function card, and power-on delay of the multi-function card.
Start all: Starts all power supplies on the multi-function card.
Emergency stop: Turn off all power on the multi-function card. If the multi-card power control mode is selected as automatic, the power auto-control time will be invalid after clicking this button, unless the “Start All” button is clicked again.
Manual control: When the power control mode is switched to the manual mode, you can click the “Start” and “Stop” buttons corresponding to each power supply on the interface to control the power supply.
Automatic Control: After switching the power control mode to the automatic control mode, the hardware controls the power on and off according to the configured automatic control time (application software setting).
Software Control: Software Control is the software that controls the power on and off according to the configured power control time.

- If the power control mode of the multi-function card is automatic control, remember to click “All Start” after clicking “Emergency Stop”, otherwise the automatic control schedule of the multi-function card will be invalid;
- The automatic control of the power supply is based on the time control on the multi-function card. Therefore, before setting the automatic control time, confirm whether the time on the multi-function card is correct. The method is as follows: Click “Read” of the “Power Management Board Time” module. The button refreshes the current multi-function card. If you need to set the time of the computer to the multi-function card, click the “Settings” button of the “Power Management Board Time” module.

The custom control page
Copy: Copy the current power custom control list for pasting directly on other multi-function cards.
Paste: This button can only be used after copying the custom power control list, otherwise the button will be grayed out.
Log View: View the log of the custom control of the multi-function card power supply.
Select log file: Select the log you want to view.
After selecting the log to be viewed, select the multi-function card to be viewed in the list on the left side of the page. On the right side, you can view the detailed information of the multi-function card control at a certain point in time.
Edit: Edit the custom power control list of the current multi-function card. Click the button to open the editing window:

Delete: Delete the selected item.
> Clear: Clears all custom control lists that currently exist.
> Number of power channels: Check the number of power channels that need to be controlled.
> Date: Check the week you want to control.
> Time: Set the time to be controlled.
> Add: Add the edited power control information to the list on the left.
- In the custom mode, do not turn off the LCT control software;
- The custom setting is based on the time point, that is, when the clock time reaches the time set by the software, the software commands the hardware to perform the corresponding action.
4.2.3 Data Monitoring
Click the “Monitor Data” button on the Multi-Function Card page to open the Data Monitoring page as shown:
Refresh: Get monitoring data, including: multi-function card's own voltage, ambient temperature, and ambient humidity.
4.2.4 Peripheral Management
Click the “Peripheral Settings” button on the Multi-Function Card page to open the Peripheral Management page as shown:
Refresh: Refresh the brightness value read by the configured peripheral optical probe.
Save: Save the configured peripheral type to the file. After modifying the type of peripheral connection, you must click the "Save" button.
